Maistra Select Petalon Resort

We spent a week at Maistra Select Petalon Resort in July 2025 and we’re absolutely thrilled! The location is breathtaking—right on the coast with beautiful pine trees and crystal-clear water. The whole resort is very well-maintained and blends into nature, giving it a peaceful, relaxing vibe. The staff were always kind, professional, and helpful, making us feel welcome from the first moment. We especially loved the easy access to the beach and the walking paths along the shoreline. Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and delicious, with enough variety to please everyone. Everything was just easy and enjoyable. We returned home full of energy and wonderful memories. Would definitely recommend Petalon to anyone looking for a calm, nature-surrounded seaside holiday in Istria. We’ll be back!

For reference, we've got 3 small kids and this is THE family place we've found. We've been coming back here for 4 years in a row. It's tough to beat value-wise. Is it the most luxurious thing on the Adriatic coast? No, but it is pretty nice (upscale?). Does it have the best beaches? No, but it has not one but multiple beach options (for everyone's taste) and there's natural shade on some of them. There are also two pools. All the amenities are there, it's clean and tidy, the food is great and diverse, and most importantly - it has kids entertainment center with content throughout the day/week, incl. swimming courses for 4+ year olds. The staff is friendly and helpful. Poreč and Rovinj are nearby for daily excursions + the dino park in Funtana is surprisingly well done w/ lots of shade. All in all - warm recommendations for families.

🌟 Facilities The hotel is well-organized into multiple cottage-style units, which offers a pleasant and natural feel. There’s plenty of parking, and the pine forest surroundings provide great shade and ambiance. Beaches are spacious and comfortable. Additional amenities such as the pool, bicycle rentals, SUP boards, and other activities are easily accessible and fun for guests of all ages. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Ideal for Families, couples, seniors, and children – the resort has something for everyone and is very well-suited for a relaxing vacation. 🍽️ Food Food was excellent, with a solid and varied selection during our stay. There’s also an à la carte restaurant within the complex that offers additional options. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and enjoyable. 🧍‍♂️ Staff Our overall impression of the staff was neutral. While most were polite and professional, we experienced a problem with noise coming from another room that lasted for two days. Unfortunately, hotel management was neither able nor seemed particularly willing to resolve the issue, which affected the quality of our stay. ⚠️ Drawbacks During our visit, there was a recurring issue with loud guests in a neighboring room. This was reported to the staff, but it wasn’t resolved. It left the impression that the hotel might regularly host group or team-building guests, and the management seems to tolerate such disturbances – something regular guests may not appreciate. 🏠 On-Site Services The resort includes an on-site convenience store, ATM, and all-day dining options, making it easy to meet everyday needs without leaving the complex.
