I would highly recommend The Majestic Palace Hotel. We upgraded to a superior room, which looked recently renewed. The rooms aren’t the biggest and there isn’t really a wow factor to them, you do get views of the mountains if you’re staying the front the of hotel and you will get the sun in the mornings, I would suggest if your lower down your view will be trees. If you’re staying at The back you over look fantastic gardens and mountains in the background. The rooms were cleaned to a very high standard every day, our bed was a super king, and was very comfortable although I did think the pillows were hard (personal choice) so cant complain. We were B&B, the breakfast room was massive, and although it was quite busy due to the size of the room it worked very well. The selection of food was simple but with good selection and quality. The service at breakfast was good – not sure you need to be shown to your table. The pool area is lovely, with a good selection of different seats and cover, a pool guard was always on site. The price of the beer was reasonable at 7 euros, we didn’t try the cocktails/or the roof top bar, although looked and it was pretty cool, you do hear the music on a night, but it didn’t bother us. Its 20 mins into centre of Sorrento, walk down the hill do avoid the main road if you were to walk up the hill. Up the hill, there are several bars and shops, but quite noisy with the road. The train station to Pompeii is less than 10 mins away, walk up the hill and turn left. I would highly recommend the Lapillo for food and drinks, less than 5 mins away, say hello to the barman from us (Elliot & Gemma). We paid £1600 for 4 nights including flights and transfer (Manchester) – based on our stay and location that seemed reasonable. Some of the hotels Jet2 dropped other guests off were too far out. Being 20 mins away, kept the food and beer prices reasonable compared to the centre.

Hotel had a lovely pool, room was spacious, the balcony and garden views were beautiful, and it had a big bed. The walls are super thin we could hear everything the neighbours were saying and doing next door. Very quiet, relaxed, couple hotel- I probably wouldn't recommend for kids. Overall was a good stay, about a 20 minute walk from Sorrento town.

We were visiting Sorrento for my sister’s wedding and stayed here for several nights. We loved our view from the room and there was so much storage which was exactly what we needed since we were going to be there for several nights. We had a tough time getting our AC to work but eventually got the room to cool down. I would’ve given this hotel a 5 but we had a couple of weird interactions with the staff. They were very strict on the rooftop and said we weren’t allowed to play cards or even sit a certain way in a chair. Also at the downstairs bar they were very strict on quiet hours even though there aren’t any rooms first floor of the hotel. There were a couple other instances where we had questions or needed recommendations and the staff was very short with us or not helpful. The space itself helped to makeup for that.
