I had a wonderful stay at Makadi Palace - Couples and Families Only. From the moment we arrived, Mr. Paolo, the Customer Relations Manager, made us feel genuinely welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. The staff throughout the resort were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The animation team brought great energy with fun and engaging activities that added joy to each day. A special highlight was the dinner at the Botanical Restaurant – absolutely spectacular in both taste and atmosphere. If I had one suggestion, it would be to improve the variety of options in the open buffet, particularly during breakfast and lunch.
The hotel itself was nothing special, but the worst part was the animation team. They were arrogant, rude, and completely unprofessional. Instead of creating a friendly atmosphere, they made guests feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I saw them roll their eyes, speak down to people, and even make jokes at guests’ expense. Their bad attitude ruined the whole entertainment program and left a very negative impression. Definitely not coming back.
Stay away – extremely disappointing experience! Our stay at Makadi Palace was nothing short of a nightmare. From the very beginning, we were shocked by the rude behavior of the staff – especially the waiters. We were frequently insulted in Arabic as they walked past, assuming we wouldn’t understand. Unfortunately for them, we do speak the language. Drinking water is a serious issue. There is only one spot on the entire resort where bottled water is provided. When asking for water elsewhere, we were bluntly told: “Why do you want water?” Even worse, the bottled water we received had expired – over three months ago! There are far too few sunbeds around the pool and beach. Guests are forced to get up very early to secure one. Housekeeping staff repeatedly entered our room despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign being clearly displayed. From day one, we (along with many other guests) suffered from stomach issues and diarrhea – strongly suggesting hygiene concerns across the resort. This was by far the worst holiday we have ever had. We strongly urge others not to book this hotel. Please – do not make the same mistake we did!
