Makena Beach & Golf Resort

Everything about this place is awesome. My wife and I are celebrating our 15 year anniversary and the hotel gave us a free upgrade to an Oceanview room. This is an amazing, picturesque view of the mountains and ocean. The open air lobby area/shopping are are really nice. There is an amazing garden with a waterfall that is peaceful and calming. We havent hit the pool yet but did walk past it and it seems nice and spacious. Overall this place is really nice and has the feel of being in Hawaii. Not like any other hotel/resort that i have stayed in anywhere else. Food is a bit pricey but it's kinda like that all over the island. There is a really nice little little fish place about 15 minutes down the road call fish & chips if you want some good fried or grilled fish for a great price. I highly recommend this place if you want a quiet, relaxing, clean vacation where you are pampered.

Great Place to stay! Beach was nice and clean. They did offer snokel gear for a small rental fee. Go early in the morning before the water gets stirred up. Several options for dining. The food was delicious. Even the Pool Grill offered great food. Rooms were kept nice and clean. Staff was professional and friendly.

Amazing honeymoon at Makena! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and well maintained. No resort or parking fees! Breakfast buffet package was a great value. After traveling to other beaches for day trips throughout our stay we couldn't have been happier with our decision to stay at Makena! The resort is quiet and a bit secluded which meant we could easily get a chair on the beach every day - and we had the relaxing experience we sought for our honeymoon. No need to leave the resort to snorkel or view sea turtles. Hotel restaurant wasn't that great but everything else exceeded our expectations! We slept with just screen door over patio each night and the sound of the ocean was the best part - we will be back!
