Maldron Hotel Manchester City Centre

Convenient and comfortable stay We recently stayed at the Maldron Hotel for our daughter’s graduation from the University of Manchester, and it turned out to be a great choice. The location is excellent and within easy walking distance of both the university and the city centre. Our room was comfortable, and we especially appreciated the very comfortable bed and pillows, which made for a restful stay. There’s a restaurant downstairs, though we didn’t dine there during our stay. They do offer breakfast, which you need to pre-order the night before, and we did grab some coffee from there. Overall, it was a pleasant and hassle-free stay, and we’ll certainly consider the Maldron Hotel again the next time we visit Manchester.

On arrival we parked in the car in the car park which we were directed to when we had phoned ahead for directions. We weren't told to not pay in the car park which we did as signs saying you must pay on arrival in the car park. When we checked in we were then told if we paid on check in it would be cheaper. Annoying. However the room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. Air con in the room was a much needed bonus as well , as we were experiencing a heatwave. Staff were friendly and pleasant. The buffet breakfast was great with a good variety of choices. All public areas were clean. Didn't use the bar as we spent most of the time out celebrating my daughters Graduation. Great location for the University and plenty of access to public transport. Would recommend but wish we were told about the car parking payment option beforehand especially as we had called ahead.

We recently stayed at the Maldron in Manchester for the fifth time, so think we have gained enough experience to leave a fair review. This is a great hotel in a good location. The staff are always really helpful and friendly and that is everyone from reception, behind the bar, housekeeping and on duty managers. They are always on hand to help and they do so with a smile. We have stayed at multiple hotels and sometimes when you have a request, it seems like a chore, but not here. We have stayed in the same room every time that we have stayed here as we liked it that much on the first stay. The rooms are spacious, well kept and clean although we did have an issue with our room on our recent stay, but to be fair to the staff here, it was dealt with in a timely manner to the standard we are used to so I have absolutely no complaints. The hotel in general is modern and well decorated. It is also very clean in all areas and you will always see someone cleaning. The bar area is a good size and has plenty of seating. There is a great selection of drinks available here and the bar staff are great. I wish I had taken the name of the guy who was working on our last stay, he was such a happy, friendly person. The restaurant area is also of a good size. We have only ever had breakfast here, which has always been very nice. You have your choice of cooked "Full English" style items as well as cereal, toast and continental style offerings. There are three decent sized lifts to give you access to all floors and all three have always been working whenever we have stayed here, which again, makes a difference. In all, if you are looking for a comfortable stay in the Oxford Road area of Manchester, I cannot recommend this place enough.
