Malmaison Belfast

An excellent location and we enjoyed our stay. We did think that the Malmaison was more of a boutique hotel but it did have a slightly more corporate feel to it. Staff were helpful and checking in and out was easy. The hotel bar was lovely Not really a negative note as such but the rooms were quite dark but I guess that’s part of the Malmaisons branding and decor

Booked a table to dine at 17.15 had to sit in bar area waiting on said table. No one approached us to as if we'd like to order a drink at the bar. Eventually got table, such a pallava, ordered food only to be told quite a while later it was no longer available. Had to choice something else. After a considerable wait on drinks and food we were eventually served. However not the correct food, we got the food that was for the table beside us, and they arrived sometime after we had ordered food, after another wait we got correct food. Which was good, We had to cancel our desert couldn't wait any longer had a concert to get to. At least we got fed a few people had been waiting well over an hour and had to leave. Service was chaotic such a shame as the place had a lovely relaxing interior. Will we back? I very much doubt it. Staff were lovely, very approachable but a lot leaves to be desired. Get your act together could be a great wee place to dine before concerts.

My mum and I went to Malmaison for afternoon tea on Sunday 13th April. We had prebooked this a couple of weeks in advance. It was very disappointing and was probably one of the worst hotel experiences we have had. On arrival we were told to pick a table - most of the tables hadn't been cleared so there was a limited choice. The tables stayed that way and were still not cleared when we left. The afternoon tea arrived after 45 minutes. We asked 3 staff how long it would be - none could let us know. We were given a complimentary drink to make up for the wait. The food was luke warm or cold when it arrived. The savoury dishes and sweets were not what was included in the menu which was very disappointing.The portions are very small - no need to take anything home. The people at the table next to us waited 25 minutes for a drink. When their food arrived, 2 ice lollies replaced one of the sweets. They had also asked for a substitute for the tuna - they got the tuna. We asked to speak to a manager to complain as we left. There was no senior manager only one of the staff we had already spoken to. She listened to our complaints and offered another complimentary drink - we refused - we didn't want to stay any longer. Avoid malmaison and book elsewhere. A very poor experience.
