Manchester Hall

The location is perfect. I've read the reviews and it seems a lot of people want 5 star hotels at 1 star pricing. For the price this hotel it awesome. It's grand lobby is inviting but the rooms are tired. I would most definitely stay here again. Everything is as it should be for the price. The rooms are nice and clean and the beds are comfortable enough to get a decent sleep. It could do with updating the rooms but I hope that doesn't happen as the price will have to go up. You can't get better for a hotel smack in the centre of Manchester, next to the team stop for

First of all, staff is very nice. And so is the location. I booked a single room and got one on the upmost floor. It's apparently a very old hotel, as the floors creak and bend a bit when you walk on them, so I'd say underneath that fancy carpet, there's probably a layer of wood. My room was clean. The big lamp of my room wasn't working but I don't really use that anyway, so I didn't mind. I told the lady at the reception when I left and she made a note for maintenance. The mattress was very comfy and I slept quite well. The only negative thing with my room was the window. There was one window I could open but only a crack and I had to put a glass in-between window and frame to keep it open the maximum width (see picture). There was no AC in the room which, again, it's an old building, so that's probably to be expected. But it was just unbearably hot in the room. Had it been cheaper, I would have given more stars but for the price I just expected a little more, is all. Again though, staff was forthcoming and kind. Edit: Just realised that the bathroom bin was not changed and still held the contents of its previous inhabitant.

Stuffy, very hot rooms with no ventilation or air conditioning. A beautiful building and location with potential. Beautiful staircase. The staff is OK. Nice peoples I will never come back here again.
