I stayed at Mandarin Oriental for 4 days and 3 nights, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The room was clean, spacious, and offered a beautiful view that made every morning feel refreshing. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable – I had some of the best sleep during my stay. The breakfast spread was fantastic, with a wide variety of local and international dishes, all fresh and flavorful. The peaceful ambiance throughout the hotel made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. What made the stay even more enjoyable was the warm and friendly staff. Every team member I encountered was courteous, attentive, and always ready with a smile – truly elevating the overall experience. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a luxurious, comfortable, and peaceful city escape with top-notch hospitality.

This is an exceptional hotel and surely one of the best hotels in Jakarta. Service is extremely professional from the moment you check in and they’ve thought of everything you could need. The rooms are spacious and views across Jakarta are great. The food at both breakfast and in the club lounge are excellent. The location is central whether for business or exploring the city, though traffic is, as ever, a challenge. The room service menu is superb. We loved the hotel.

Overpriced and Overrated – Very Disappointing Stay I recently stayed for 5 nights at the Mandarin Oriental, paying a premium rate and expecting top-tier service. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what a 5-star hotel should deliver. 1. Hidden spa fees – Spa products had unexpected extra charges that were never explained upfront. This felt deceptive and left a bad impression from the start. 2. No smart TVs – For a hotel in this price range, not having smart TVs in any rooms is outdated and inconvenient. 3. Underwhelming pool – The pool is small, basic, and unimpressive for a property claiming to be luxury. 4. Poor breakfast – Very few western food choices, limited fruit selection, and the juice wasn’t fresh or organic but cheap powdered mix. This is far below 5-star expectations. 5. Excessive laundry prices – Laundry costs were outrageously high, even by luxury hotel standards. 6. Cold send-off – Upon check-out, no one offered to help with our luggage. I guess the warmth and attention are only for guests arriving, not for those leaving. For the extremely high price I paid, I expected far better service, attention to detail, and basic modern amenities. Sadly, this stay felt like paying for the brand name, not for genuine luxury. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this property.
