We stayed at Ashlar @ Manna Gums and we were blown away by the beautiful stay. Walking in the accommodation we were greeted with a beautiful decor and lovely welcome pack of what to expect in Daylesford. A must stay if you are visiting Daylesford area as a couple.

Good with some bad Loved our stay at the Manna Gums! The beds were comfy, the decor was nice and the layout of the house was really spacious for 6 people. The owners were fantastic to deal with especially when having to rebook 2 years later with the lockdowns. The bottle of wine left & the late check out was a nice touch. The shower pressure and heating systems were good. There is plenty of couch space and chairs for a group booking and if you had an even bigger group the outdoor area is fantastic with a massive table and heaps of chairs. The downfall: I think the price of the house is way too high however for what it is. Things that should be more up to scratch was the cleanliness of the house. The cutlery & kitchen drawers, oven, fridge, windows and floors were filthy and you could tell it hadn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. Pans and plates that were in the cupboards were dirty also. The carpet in our bedroom was also heavily stained and a bit yuck. There were 2 spare rolls of toilet paper left for us which is very stingy considering they knew 6 people were staying and annoying when you have to go shopping for things that should be supplied. There was no dishcloth at all supplied for the sink and only 1 tea towel. There was no hand wash left and or a hand towel for the main bathroom also. Things I didn’t know about the house that should have been mentioned was that ‘Mini gums’ is attached to ‘Manna gums’ with doors throughout the house saying ‘private’ on them and were locked (literally one big house under one roof divided into 2). We felt a bit crept out thinking whoever was in Mini Gums could hear what we were saying etc and you could tell someone was staying in mini gums at the same time we were there. We didn’t end up using the spa as it smelt really bad and the cover on it is filthy also. There were so many blow flies in the house with no idea where they were coming from. There was only a handful of wood left to use the fire pit outside, so there was no literally point lighting it. Our power did go out Friday night for around an hour but I think it was an entire Daylesford issue. Cheers.
