We received a warm welcome and the manager spoke good English. We were upgraded to a beautiful large room with four-poster bed. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna are just what we needed after a tiring day of driving. The evening meal was also very good.
Four stars? Must have been a long time ago!! Our Jun. Suite was antiquated, with a dusty feel to it, despite of obvious efforts of hotel staff to keep it clean. They certainly do everything in their power to keep clients happy, yet can't cover up for the obvious lack of means invested by the owners in recent years. Given that our Suite overlooked the entrance area it lacked privacy. Bathroom, a makeshift, half-open area at back of the room, wherein toilet is hidden behind a curtain. All in all far from our expectation of a Jun. Suite at a four star establishment. Why not simply be honest and rate it as a two stars hosting happy clients?
I have given one star for each section as the service here was the worst I have ever experienced. After arriving at 4:30pm ( check in was from 4pm) we were told the pool was only available from 7pm, although the original booking said unlimited use of facilities. The lady then showed us the limited dinner menu with 2 options, reservation and non reservation options, we all decided on the non reservation option believing we could choose from that when we sat down to eat later. Once settled into our twin room, where the beds had yet to be changed from a double, to 2 singles, we made our way back to reception and waited to be allowed to use the spa facilities. After a quick dip, shower and changed ready for dinner, we made our way to the restaurant. When asked what we would like, we chose and were immediately told that the only option for us was cheese and biscuits as nothing else was available. After some discussion, the lady got the manager/cook who explained that we could always get Uber eats ! We ended up heading into town and got dominoes as everywhere locally shut at 9pm. In all, I would not recommend this hotel. There seemed to only be 2 staff on from when we checked in until the following morning. The young girl was running reception, housekeeping, bar and restaurant. Save your money and book somewhere more organised and professional.
