Surprisingly, this senior housing complex is also an excellent hotel for on the highway when traveling south or north.

A small castle and a retirement complex where you can spend the night. I didn't know in advance where we would get a room but because it was for 1 night it didn't really matter to me. The residence is located outside Maubeuge center near the entrance to the highway. You have a spacious parking lot where you can park for free. There is a swimming pool where you have to wear a bathing cap in the dependence. You can book breakfast on site I had booked 2 superior suites and strangely enough we got 2 different rooms. Well, in the castle itself room 3 and 5. Room 3 had a large bed and a bathroom and small kitchen. Really neat, clean and the bed slept wonderfully. Room 5 was the same only a lot bigger with a mega smart TV at the foot of the bed. Plus a larger kitchen and couch and dining table. In both rooms there was a Senseo with some pads and there was a kettle with tea bags. There were also some kitchen utensils as well as a refrigerator, detergent and tea towel. Please note no air conditioning, room 5 did have a separate fan Just to be clear, it is indeed a site where elderly people live, something that only became clear to me after booking. In the residence they want silence after 8 p.m., in the castle after 10 p.m. Still, I rate this with 4 stars because the price was good for what they offered.
