Mansion Hill Inn was fantastic. The staff was flexible, friendly, and very clearly devoted to ensuring their guests enjoy their stay. Our room was beautiful and well-appointed. The continental breakfast was the best version of a hotel continental breakfast I've had. The location was ideal for us, offering reasonable proximity to interesting shops and restaurants, the capital district, and the east end of UW's campus. It was a wonderful stay!
This inn has been the best place I have ever experienced. My husband and I came across it on our wedding night two years ago and decided to celebrate our two year anniversary at it because it was such a memorable stay. The inn has amazing vintage, antique charm and characteristics. The architecture is beautifully preserved yet the bathrooms have been updated to modern standards with heated floors, amazing shower heads, and huge bathtubs (for select rooms only). Complimentary breakfast is provided with quality breads and toppings. The bar is also stocked with a variety of quality alcohol. This inn maintains the charm of its original design as much as possible while providing updated amenities as necessary. The staff is incredibly friendly and go the extra mile to fulfill any needs you may have. John especially entertained my husband and I with wonderful conversations and suggestions for food and entertainment, and truly made our second stay here just as memorable as the first. He also assisted in our reservation to ensure we stayed here for our entire trip to Madison while also spending a few nights in the same room we stayed in two years ago. Its location is just on the outskirts of downtown and away from the traffic while being a 10-minutes walk away from everything you need, and a shorter drive to everything else in Madison. There are a limited number of rooms, but they seemed to have sound proofed everything (or everyone else staying here was super quiet!). The beds seem to be a queen size and the rooms may seem small to some people, but compared to your average hotel they are quite roomy! They have limited parking spots, but provide valet parking if you need to park on the side of the road. If you’re looking for a place that has historical charm to it while also having modern bathroom luxuries, and knowing your stay will be fully satisfied by the staff, I highly recommend booking your next trip to Madison here.
Exceptional service! The rooms, location, and amenities were all excellent. The spiral staircase is beautiful, though quite steep and narrow—just a little heads-up to use caution. 😊 That said, the very best room with the loveliest view awaits you at the top!
