Mansion House Hotel

We arrived to discover I had booked the wrong date/year, silly me!! The manager was so very kind and considerate/helpful and managed to change the booking and gave us an upgrade. The room was luxurious and very comfortable including a big sleigh bed with lovely laundered linen. It was spotlessly clean which was great as our accommodation the previous 3 nights elsewhere was far from clean. Thank your staff. Our breakfast was delicious and hot. We will return in the future and would recommend it without hesitation. Thanks again.

Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. However, there’s no one at reception during the night, which was surprising for a 4-star hotel. I accidentally locked myself out while stepping out for a smoke and had to call the manager at 2 AM to let me back in. He was helpful, but I felt bad .For a hotel of this standard, round-the-clock staff would be expected. Overall, a nice stay but that part was disappointing.

This place was fabulously posh. You feel like royalty in these spacious and well-decorated rooms. However, note that the walls are old and therefore a pinch thin, and there is a teensy bit of water damage. This is well made up for by the hands-on service.
