We recently stayed at Mantra Crown Towers in Surfers Paradise, and overall, it was a great experience — especially for families and anyone wanting to stay close to the beach and attractions. The location is a huge plus. It’s just a short walk to the beach, Cavill Avenue, shops, restaurants, and public transport. Very convenient for exploring the Gold Coast. The area felt safe and vibrant, even during the evening. Our apartment was spacious, with a separate bedroom, full kitchen, and laundry facilities — perfect for a longer stay or if you’re travelling with kids. The decor was a bit dated in places, but everything was clean and well-maintained. The views from the balcony were fantastic, especially at sunset. What really stood out was the pool area. It’s probably one of the best features of this hotel. The lagoon-style outdoor pool is massive, with a fun pirate ship area for the kids and plenty of space to relax for adults. There’s also a heated indoor pool, spa, and sauna — ideal if the weather isn’t great. Our kids didn’t want to leave the pool the entire trip! The on-site Thai restaurant (Chiang Mai Thai) is worth mentioning — authentic, delicious food with generous portions. There’s also a café near the lobby if you’re after something quick in the morning. Parking was included, which is a bonus in Surfers Paradise, though the underground car park can be tight if you have a large vehicle. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and staff were polite and helpful. A couple of small downsides: as mentioned, some rooms could use a little modernising, and we could hear a bit of hallway noise during peak hours. But nothing that really disrupted our stay. Overall, Mantra Crown Towers is a great value stay, especially for families looking for a self-contained apartment near the beach with resort-style facilities. It’s not ultra-luxurious, but it’s clean, comfortable, and has everything you need for a relaxed Gold Coast holiday. Would definitely return — especially in warmer weather to enjoy that amazing pool again!
We had a mostly good stay here! The staff were super friendly and helpful from the moment we checked in, which was a great start. The apartment itself was really spacious and clean – the kitchen had everything we needed, which made it easy for longer stays. Also, the free self-parking was a great bonus – always appreciate not having to stress about that! The location was another big plus – walking distance to the beach, the tram, and the centre of town, so everything was super convenient. The pool area looked beautiful too, though the water was absolutely freezing – probably only usable in peak summer! On the downside, the room was pretty dated (though that’s not unusual for the Gold Coast). There was no housekeeping the entire time, and the bed wasn’t comfy – two singles pushed together with sheets that didn’t really fit, and no proper doona cover, just a sheet. We found a spare blanket in the wardrobe but it didn’t have a cover and was kind of gross. We were a bit worried about construction noise next door, but it ended up being totally fine. We were placed fairly low down so we did hear some traffic noise, but nothing too major. All in all, a fine stay with some great features – just a few comfort things that could use an update.
The property has really good facilities and in a fantastic location. It is older but still amazing. Our 3 bedroom apartment was not clean when we arrived. It was clean to look at when we first walked in however after really getting in there was much to clean. The table and benches were grimy and sticky, the floor sticky, the backsplash thick with grime, refrigerator needed a wipe over, clumps of hair on the floor in the bedroom as well as used cotton buds and the windows on the balcony hadn't been cleaned in months. I addressed this with the reception and they did clean the windows which made the view so much better.
