Mantra Esplanade

Staying here for a week, the apartment in spacious and pleasant. Furniture a bit old and past it, but functional.and comfortable. Bed very comfy and bathroom and laundry facilities great, lovely soap and bodywash. Room not serviced but not an issue. Location is perfect close to esplanade,. shops bars and restaurants. Hotel and room spotless. Read many mixed reviews but would highly recommend to anyone considering staying in cairns. Only have 4stars for service because rooms not made up on a daily basis unless you are prepared to pay an extra charge, which I find most unusual.

Stayed for 6 nights in July 2025. Room was dated and curtains were hanging off the rails.was disappointed when we get back from being out all day to find the room hadn’t been serviced ( l love to come back from being out all day to find my bed made, that’s why I pay to stay in a hotel). When we asked about getting the room serviced we were told if we want fresh towels or sheets we had to bring said towels and sheets down to reception and they would give us fresh ones. I have never come across this before.

We spent $7,500 for our family to stay on the top level 3 bedroom apartment. We were expecting a premium experience at $750 per night, but were left incredibly disappointed. The oven didn’t work at all during our stay, making it difficult to prepare meals for our family, including a diabetic/pregnant guest. The air conditioning was also broken, leaving the apartment uncomfortably hot. We were told to open balcony doors as a solution — not ideal or safe with a toddler on level 7. The apartment was not clean on arrival so our feet were black from walking around. The basic amenities were missing. Despite repeated requests, service and follow-up were minimal. We also experienced maintenance disruptions with no warning that water would be shut off, and poor communication from staff. For the high cost, the standard of cleanliness, comfort, and service was well below what you’d expect. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t recommend this property to others. Location - excellent but so noisy at night so very hard to sleep.
