Mantra Hervey Bay

A top getaway spot! While the rooms are a tiny bit dated, the location more than makes up for it. The view is second to none, the staff are warm and welcoming, and the pool is fantastic. The gym’s nothing to write home about – but honestly, forget the workout and treat yourself to the many great restaurants nearby (The Dock was our favourite). Or enjoy a leisurely 2km walk to the Esplanade. They also have a very nice bar. A truly great spot for a relaxing weekend escape.

Exceptional Stay at Mantra Hervey Bay! I had an amazing stay at Mantra Hervey Bay — from start to finish, everything was spot on. The room was a great size, very clean and tidy, and the added bonus of a spa bath made it feel like a real treat. The marina views were absolutely stunning — perfect to wake up to! Donna at check-in was fabulous. Such a lovely, down-to-earth person who was more than happy to have a chat and a laugh. It was that old-school customer service you rarely see anymore, and it made me feel truly welcome. The bedding was super comfortable, with a nice firm mattress that I personally loved. There was even a complimentary drink in the lobby on arrival — a thoughtful touch that really added to the experience. I needed a few extra things for the room and, once again, was met with that same warm, friendly service. The heated pool was stunning and just the cherry on top of an already fantastic stay. Can’t wait for my next visit — I’d absolutely recommend Mantra Hervey Bay to anyone looking for a relaxing, well-serviced getaway! – Ryan

Probably a nice hotel in its day but dated now and has some significant issues. An infestation of ants was one issue. On the first day we only saw a few but the next morning the tea making area was alive with them. A major issue is the doors which are all auto closers and which are extremely heavily sprung. An elderly lady on our floor had received a blow from one that resulted in a serious bruise to her face and she really should have reported it and sought medical treatment. With luggage they're a challenge for any fit and healthy person. The lifts are another oddity inasmuch as there is no ground floor - well, there is, but it's numbered 1, so on our first trip down the door open and you see a 1 on the wall and automatically think you still need to go down another floor. We saw others make this same mistake several times and one wonders how it gets through fire risk assessments without being changed to meet common standards. Lastly, the rooms are small and dark with an oddly large part of the space sacrificed for a spa bath instead of a more modern walk-in shower, and feels very expensive for what you get compared to other places we've stayed at on this trip up the east coast. If call this 3 star rather than 4. The location is quite good and is handy for things like boat trip, but the whole marina area is entirely separate from busier pier area. Other than the ants it's clean and the bed was comfy.
