This is my second stay at Mantra Sydney Central. Location is fantastic and close to light rail with a quick trip into the harbour area. Plenty of shopping and food outlets nearby. Staff are amazing and friendly. Rooms are very comfortable. We booked an accessible Studio Queen for a power wheelchair user. Little tight in turning circle but certainly manageable.

Pro's- Perfect location for the Capitol theatre and light rail stop in Chinatown. Well priced through the booking site for a weekend visit no less. You certainly can't go wrong for a 1 or 2 night (at most) stay. Con's- Cleaning standards are not all that high. Dirty dishes in the cupboard, grime on bathroom tiles and wall surfaces (functional ventilation would help with this), and a suspicious stain on the lounge. Alas, grateful for clean sheets and towels. Not awful. But not amazing.

I had a very disappointing experience with Mantra Sydney Central, and I feel responsible to share it so other travelers are aware. I booked a stay from July 19 to July 23, 2025. Due to an unexpected change in my travel schedule, I contacted the hotel one and a half months in advance to inform them that I would arrive on July 20 instead of July 19. Although the hotel did not allow a delayed check-in, I agreed to pay the full amount, including the night of July 19, just to keep the reservation secured. Despite that, when I arrived on July 20, I was shocked to be told that my booking had been canceled. What upset me the most was not just the cancellation, but the attitude of the hotel staff: no apology, no explanation, no assistance, no compassion. They simply refused to check me in and left me to deal with the situation on my own. As an international guest arriving in a foreign country, being left without accommodation and with zero support from a 4-star hotel is unacceptable. I had to walk around the city on my own and urgently find a new place to stay — during peak travel season in Sydney. I am requesting a full or partial refund, as I received none of the services I paid for. If the hotel fails to resolve this fairly, I will continue to share my honest experience across other platforms to help protect future travelers from similar treatment.
