We have been to the marathon hotel twice & we will be returning again in the future. The manager Vasilis & his staff are amazing! They go above & beyond for us. The bar staff are just awesome & are now classed as our friends !! There is a friendly atmosphere and daytime activities & evening entertainment with max , who is also amazing. The food is lovely & fresh every day! The rooms are cleaned daily & the air con is amazing! 😊

One of the best experiences we ever had at a hotel. Hotel: The all-inclusive was absolutely amazing, from 7am until 23/24 o'clock you are provided with food and drinks. After breakfast you can get pizza at the pool, which is constantly freshly cooked and served, you can get ice cream and refreshments at the bar, and in the evening until late into the night you can grab a gyros and cocktails at the pool bar. There is a big pool and a kids pool at the pool bar, where they play music and the entertainment happens, there is also children's playground, but in the sun and most likely scorching hot in 40°. Also a ping pong table. There is also a parking place right beside the entrance where we parked our rented car. Staff: Especially in the restaurant and at the reception they are super friendly and always have a smile on their faces, you really feel welcomed by them at every corner. The cleaning staff also did a good job and asked everything if we wanted room service (when we didn't hang "Do Not Disturb" on the door, when we didnt, they naturally didn’t disturb us). Entertainment: There is a program for every day- like water aerobics before lunch, water ball, ping pong, etc. Every evening around 8/9pm there is a new activity, which you can check at the pool door entrance. We experienced karaoke, bingo (won 2x), Greek dance and music, and a quiz night. There was also an activity for kids to do on one of the days (baking pizza). The animator (Mr. Sabotage) is also amazing and the heart of the party, he can converse well in many languages and is super friendly and funny. Location: Everything is nearby- Market, souvenir shops, bars, restaurants and arcades. There is also a beach 10 min away and a bus station. Right in front of the entrance the shops start, which stays open until late night.

Spent here 2 weeks and after all I loved it. But, ... it's still great value for the money you pay, but it depends greatly which room you will get. There are older rooms, like the ones we got, which definitely weren't worth the 4 stars hotel. Rooms are small and rather utilitarian, not much space left beside the double bed, desk and a bench kind of thing. Our room was on ground floor with other guests walking right in front of our balcony, with only the darkening curtain, no sheer curtains so to get some privacy we were left in darkness, as the room didn't have ceiling light, only small weak side bed lamps. For not very picky people, it was still good, but if you mind little details, the unfinished hole in the wall behind the tv or behind the AC unit, with cable going through, gaps filled with spiderwebs and dust, bathroom with broken drain grid. Furnishing was little dated, but nothing wrong with that. The service, restaurant service was 5 stars, I can't complain, also food was amazing, well it's Greece cuisine after all. Waiters and staff in restaurant were very polite and always smiling. Receptionist also, very pleasant and smiling and helpful. But for the drinks at the pool bar, well, instead of juice, they use syrup in the drinks. And for the pool, there are 2 pools, one bigger with many sunbeds, but people nest there the whole day. You go to breakfasts and half of the sunbeds is already taken. Also the water in the pool wasn't really clear, rather little opaque and didn't feel too clean. For the other smaller pool, it's private for the guests in adjacent new rooms, but we were told you can take the 2 sunbeds at the start and ad the end of the pool. After all, I wouldn't call it 4* hotel, if you've ever been to any 4* hotel, you'd agree. But given some other room, I would still come again.
