We had a wonderful time here. A great place for the whole family. Tania was amazing. Every day she offered painting arts and crafts that we all enjoyed. And was a high light of each morning. Elias in the Joe merchant shop was brilliant at making tea whenever we asked. And Amilio one of the waiters made every meal enjoyable and fun. All of the staff were wonderful and eager to help and make the holiday a beautiful and wonderful experience. It was like seeing a friend at every corner. Always met with smiles and great conversations.
About a 20min ride from the airport. The place was well kept and clean. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. You could really tell they enjoyed their jobs. The entertainment staff was great. Always smiling and very high energy. The food is one of the best if not the best I've had at an all inclusive. The rooms are amazing and spacious even at the entry level. All in all a top of the line resort.
Disappointed by Changes, but Grateful for Amazing Staff We recently stayed at Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun (Azul Beach), and while the resort still has beautiful touches, there were several disappointments during our visit that made this experience feel unlike past ones. To start, the lobby felt like a ghost town—no entertainment, little atmosphere, and the lobby bar was practically inactive most nights. We were surprised to see how many areas of the resort are closed throughout the day, which created a lackluster energy throughout. There were times the snack store/coffee shop was closed with no notice of what time a staff member was returning. As Prestige members, we also noticed that benefits have noticeably declined fewer snacks, fewer personalized touches, and an overall drop in service compared to previous visits. A major disappointment was the inability to enjoy the beach. While we understand that sargassum is a natural phenomenon and out of the resort’s control, it had a strong odor and rendered the ocean unswimmable for the duration of our stay. Unfortunately, this wasn’t communicated to us beforehand. The resort should disclose this issue to potential guests, so they can make an informed decision before booking especially for those expecting a relaxing beach vacation. Related to this, the Bali bed situation was frustrating. The beach area was nearly empty due to the sargassum, yet we were told the beds were all reserved. We paid $150 for one and spent the entire day there not a single other guest used the so-called “reserved” beds. It felt misleading and disappointing. That said, we want to truly commend the staff who made a difference in our stay. Antonio and Miguel, our waiters, were consistently warm, attentive, and professional. Edwin from room service went above and beyond, and Jairo was a standout always helpful, polite, and a bright spot every day. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the same positive experience with Tere from the Prestige team. While friendly at check-in, she became noticeably distant once she realized we weren't interested in upgrading or buying into additional packages. By the end of our stay, she didn’t even say goodbye. Thankfully, Stephanie stepped in, and her approach was refreshing—no pressure, just helpful and professional service, which we appreciated. We’re grateful for the team members who made the stay special, but unless some of the service issues, transparency, and amenity closures are addressed, we’re unsure if we’ll return. This trip simply didn’t live up to the experience we’ve come to expect from Margaritaville.
