They gave us a huge room called an abbara during these hot summer days, and it was wonderfully cool. You enter from above ground and exit from below, which is fascinating. It has an amazing design and is divided into sections. My parents slept in one section, and I slept in the other. By the way, it’s a double-entry room. Throughout the night, my conversations with Mr. Diyar were delightful, and the detailed information he provided about both the hotel and the city made us very happy. Many thanks to him and Mr. Bünyamin for their hospitality..🥰
We came all the way from the United States as a family of four, and let me just say — Mardin has completely stolen my heart, and Maridin Hotel played a huge part in that! This place is absolutely amazing — a perfect blend of history, comfort, and breathtaking views from every corner. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service was truly top-tier. Every staff member made us feel right at home. They are all AWESOME! One of the highlights of our stay was the Sıra Night hosted at the hotel — an unforgettable cultural experience! The meze and food were beyond incredible, full of rich flavors and authenticity. We found ourselves not just enjoying the food, but also the music, the stories, and the spirit of Mardin. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave. If you’re visiting Mardin, Maridin Hotel is the spot I’d recommend without hesitation — it’s more than a hotel, it’s an experience.
A charming hotel with an authentic style and friendly staff. We loved the overall aesthetic of the hotel, but there are some areas for improvement. The lighting in our room was insufficient—we noticed that other rooms had a better setup. Ours was quite dark, so we had to rely on the bathroom light. This wasn’t an issue in the evening, but at night, it became inconvenient because turning it on would wake the other person. Upon arrival, we noticed that not everything had been checked in the room. The kettle was burnt (though it was quickly replaced), the toilet seat cover was misplaced (which was fixed right away), and the phone didn’t work, but we were able to use WhatsApp instead. The room itself was tidy, but the carpet needed more thorough cleaning—it was full of crumbs and hair. After walking barefoot for just 30 minutes, my white socks turned grey. The hotel offers valet parking, which cost 100 TL per day in March 2025. The breakfast was decent. I would add a bit more fresh options. The timing of the breakfast is 8:00 to 10:30 that is a bit late, we couldn’t have it on our day of check out. (March 2025) One suggestion for the hotel: please provide a “Do Not Disturb” sign. We didn’t want our room cleaned, but since there was no way to indicate this, housekeeping came in and even threw away the slippers we had barely worn. While it was a nice gesture, it felt wasteful. The same goes for changing towels after just one use—I’d appreciate an option to opt out, as it’s unnecessary and environmentally unfriendly. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but with small adjustments, the experience could be even better.
