Toilet was broken when we started our trip Although they fixed it immediately. Service every where was impeccable warm and welcoming. The pool was amazing, the service at the bar poolside was excellent. Buffet breakfast great, lunch and dinner buffet not to good, food at the beach needs to be better. So many things as a chef my whole life I’d just loved to grab the food and bev manager and ask them to hire me for a month to work with the staff on preparing and presenting better tasting food like making a simple cheeseburger. I still would go back as I just loved it there and the kids happiness is the key to the stay. Tostones and Chichirones, mofongo, maduros, Mangu, fried whole crispy fish, sancocho are Dominican staples, instead of trying to be something else, highlight the flavors of the country. The night life and shows were wonderful. Plenty for all of us to do together, and there’s an amazing beautiful beach to soak up the sun at as well.

We stayed at the Marien from Feb 22-Mar 1 and it was the most relaxing vacation ever! I have read a lot of negative reviews and was worried to even stay here but once we checked in, I was so pleasantly surprised to see how clean it was and how lovely the people were. Our housekeepers were fabulous always restocking our fridge with beer and water ( at one point we had a dozen and 6 1 letters of water) There was an issue with the water one afternoon and our housekeeper mopped at least 3 hours after her shift ended to make sure it was properly cleaned up. Very dedicated to keeping the resort clean. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We had an issue with our balcony door not locking but were on the 2nd floor so safety wasn't a worry. ( I did feel very safe there the whole time, which was a concern I had had from reviews) The FOOD!! it was so good, no issues with it at all.. Mylos was amazing and the buffet always had lots of variety. It was almost always fresh and if we thought something didn't look great we skipped it. The Snack bar was also delicious all hours! The Pool was so clean -yes it was hard to get a shaded area but we just stayed in the pool more lol This isn't a party resort, it did have a lot of older people (over 60) but it was quiet and perfect for a relaxing week! Overall this was a great resort and we will definitely be back

This is one of the worst hotels that I've ever been to. That is why I didn't give her any stars it's not even worth one. I would not send my worst enemy to this hotel. There's no such thing as security. Unless you're giving them money which is ridiculous when you're planning for all inclusive. Tubs are dirty,toilets don't work properly. I compare this hotel to Motel 6. Motel 6 is better than this hotel.
