Marina Plaza Hotel Tala Bay

This was a very disappointing stay! I went through all the reviews before I booked. Most people mentioned the food was good, pool area is very clean and the rooms are old but clean. But most of it was not as i expected. Unfortunately many things were disappointing that we ended up only sleeping there and eating breakfast then leaving the hotel to go to other pools and beaches. 1- when booking the lady offered to upgrade our rooms to superior pool view ( I did not ask), we asked that the beds were two singles and that it was smoke free. when we got to the hotel they assured me this was the case however, the room stunk of smoke and a horrible scent they added to cover it up, the room was not pool view, the beds were King sized beds. 2- the AC sound was loud 3- The pool opens at 9 am and had so much garbage around it with even ice cream on the sunbeds. 4-The breakfast was ok, nothing exciting but decent. 5- The corridors were dirty with garbage and peoples plates that were there for 2 days. Its unfortunate as the actual hotel area and the landscaping is lovely. I should note I went there probably 8 years ago and it was much nicer.

I had a very disappointing experience. The price for a 6-hour stay is extremely unreasonable considering the poor quality of the rooms. The rooms are very old and not well-maintained, the bed was uncomfortable, and the overall cleanliness was below expectations. The swimming pool had a very high chlorine level, making it unpleasant to use. The front desk service was also not welcoming or professional. I will definitely not be repeating this experience.

The furniture is outdated and very basic. The refrigerator doesn’t cool properly and functions more like an icebox. The air conditioner is extremely noisy. The swimming pool is small and closes by 6:00 PM — making it hardly useful. Overall, it’s hard to see the value in staying at a residence like this.
