Marine Hotel Ballycastle

For a three star hotel our stay was fantastic. We ate for our main meal that evening and the food was very good although the thick cut chips were too hard. The entrance is decked with a lovely sorta coffee dock come sandwich bar and although we didn't use it the grub looked very good. Staff all very pleasant. Would we stay again..... Yes no problem.

Perfect location opposite the beach. The hotel is buzzing . Our room was fantastic , great big comfy bed , good shower, lovemy white company toiletries. The little extras such as the flask of tea and the chocolate in the fridge are lovely Fab breakfast

Probably the worst service I've ever received in a restaurant, or anywhere to be fair. Asked the waitress what the soup was and she responded "I don't know, some sort of red pepper and something else, a French word I think." Then stood looking at me as if that was enough information. Ordered a burger and chips, didn't come with bacon as stated, that's OK if the burger was nice, it was like a bird's-eye frozen burger, pretty grim. Chips were hard also. My wife ordered a chicken salad. It came with hazelnuts, which wasn't stated. When she explained to the waitress it had hazelnuts and she couldn't eat them due to an allergy the waitress responded with "Oh that's a pain isn't it". Couldn't make it up. Also asked to pay in full for the meal before getting the food? Who does that? We did get a partial refund from the manager who was quite nice to be fair but I think the staffing needs sorted out. My 8 year old son would have done better.
