Maritim Hotel Ulm

Nice hotel in as part of the congress center of the city. Good value for money as we were using it as a sleep over for two day visit to Legoland. Staff was friendly and assisting.

Stayed with the in laws for a weekend and the hotel is dated in places but nevertheless has great views, lovely staff and does the essentials better than most hotels. Beds are very comfortable and it’s easy to walk around Ulm. My one criticism is about staff training at both the panorama restaurant and the piano bar. They do not understand how to pour wine. On the first night we ordered a bottle of wine in the bar and the waiter poured the whole bottle in one go. Generally it felt none of the staff understood how to handle wine table side. This could be improved.

Bad service and apparently water is a big deal and they don't provide water as part of room service when asked and need to fetch ourselves from the bar for which they would charge around 8 euros and on top of that they make a big fuss to provide invoice print out including all charges and make guests fetch previous invoices. Not guest friendly. On the good things. Breakfast and service at breakfast was good.
