Marktgasse Hotel

Great, quirky little hotel. Super clean and our room was one of the larger rooms and we had plenty of space. The hotel is in a building over 800 years old, which you wouldn’t know except for the extreme tilt in our room’s floor - definitely added character! They don’t have central air but have strong individual units with a ventilation tube that sat in an open window that did a great job cooling the room on an 85F day.

Marktgasse Hotel was everything I could ask for in a home base while exploring Zurich. As a solo traveler, finding the right place to stay is so important, and this hotel was exactly my style—beautiful, welcoming, and effortlessly chic. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel at home. They were warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, always ready with recommendations and a genuine enthusiasm for making my stay special. The attention to detail in the design of the hotel was stunning. Each of the 39 individually designed rooms has its own personality, blending historic charm with modern elegance. My room was thoughtfully curated, comfortable, and the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. Zurich is now one of my favorite European cities, and staying at Marktgasse Hotel made my experience even better. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel with character, comfort, and top-tier hospitality, I cannot recommend this place enough. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent location right in the heart of the old city with easy access to mass transit and the main train station. Was upgraded to a room with the rooftop terrace and the view over the city was amazing. Service was very good. Would definitely stay here again.
