Marques De Pombal Hotel

Hotel Marques de Pombal was the perfect base for exploring Lisbon. It’s an easy walk to the old town, with shops and trees lining the way. The service was outstanding—front desk staff gave great local tips, room service was flawless, and even the elevator had an attendant! A truly comfortable and welcoming stay. Highly recommended!

The hotel is perfect for a base in Lisbon since it is just in front of a metro exit. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast buffet is diverse and not crowded. Most of the rooms face a noisy street so you can not leave your window open and have to sleep with the AC on.

The reception staff (was a male unsure of name).. he was incredibly rude upon arrival, I felt extremely uncomfortable the way he spoke to me and felt unwelcome. I had forgotten my id, however my partner (Portuguese) had his id..! However this staff member was SO passive aggressive about it. There is a way of dealing with people and being understanding despite what the issue is. I felt so uncomfortable with how he spoke to me, looked at me, seemed incredibly irritated by me. A complete unwelcoming introduction to this hotel and I will never return. Why on earth would this person choose to work in a customer service based job, if they have no interest in providing good customer service or have any people skills. Likewise a staff member when we checked out (different person), was not rude however just very standoff ish and not friendly at all. Overall this hotel was such bad vibes ! Really bizarre behaviour from a hotel team..
