Absolutely mind-blowing experience at the Marriott Hartford Downtown! As a Platinum Elite member, I’ve stayed at countless Marriott properties across the country — but the level of service I received here was truly unforgettable. This hotel sets a gold standard for hospitality, and that’s thanks to the incredible team — especially Manager Christine Vernon and Front Desk Associate Danisha. From the moment we walked in, Danisha greeted us with a warm, genuine smile that instantly made us feel welcome. She recognized my Platinum status right away and graciously upgraded us to a gorgeous room with a stunning view of the river and city skyline. Her professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency were everything you hope for — and so rare to find all at once. Then there’s Christine, the hotel manager, who took service to a whole new level. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was flawless — checking in on us personally, offering thoughtful touches, and treating us not just as guests, but as valued members of the Marriott family. Her leadership shines through every detail of the hotel experience. The property itself is elegant, modern, and perfectly located — but what makes this place extraordinary is the people. If you’re traveling to Hartford, do not hesitate — this is the hotel you want. Whether for business or leisure, you'll be treated like royalty. Five stars aren’t enough. 11/10. The hotel’s location was convenient for the national conference I attended with my nonprofit, and it was easy to navigate to the conference rooms from within the hotel. However, my stay was impacted by a serious plumbing issue. I experienced an overflowing toilet late at night and was left without a working restroom until around 8 a.m the following morning and no additional cleaning attention to the bathroom (the wet towels were left spread through the bathroom floor). The only immediate solutions were a small plastic plunger, towels, and the option to use the public restroom in the lobby — which required going up and down from the 4th floor. The clog occurred during standard use, indicating that the plumbing issue may have been ongoing rather than unexpected. While I appreciate that my organization received a full refund, as a new Marriott Bonvoy member, I was disappointed that no further, additional consideration was given for the personal inconvenience I experienced. It left a poor impression.
