Marriott Lyon Cité Internationale

We stay here at least once a year and love it. The staff are great and helpful and patient with my lack of French. They are always kind, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are lovely and the beds are comfortable and big. The restaurant is excellent, both the food and the service. I would definitely give it 5 stars. It is between a river and a lake and the parks are wonderful to walk in any time--especially after a great meal in Zucca!

Service:very slow for a lot of things. Attitude is good but you need to wait very very long time to solve an issue, to Check in, because I think it’s simply under staff? Room is ok and big and view is good, however, rather strong smelt of detergent or deodorant. Location : park next to hotel is great I had dinner, presentation was fabulous, but fish was not fresh to my standards. Worthwhile staying for exploring the park to enjoy. TV should upgrade to phone connection. Can see hotel is old but they tried to maintain it.

Except for the breakfast and the gym, the hotel has NO standards. Room cleaning is non-existent. The shower gel and shampoo are never refilled, and you literary have to beg for conditioner. I have not even mentioned checkout yet: a total mess! It took 3 guests 1 hour to get the right bill with the right names. I personally do not think that this hotel is at Marriott Bonvoy level.
