The staff was ON POINT. Super friendly service all around from the wonderful front desk ladies to the maids to the bartenders to the concierge to the bellhops to the servers to the guys working on the ceiling in the hallway. They couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating...literally everyone I had any kind of contact with was fantastic. Kudos! Hotel itself was kitted out like a standard Marriott, which is actually a great thing in this context. Nice rooftop pool with cool views. My first room smelled very musty, so I changed to another room that was fine on the same floor. To be fair the humidity in Panamá is outrageous, so I'm sure it's a monumental challenge to avoid that dreaded mildew smell. I had one small visitor: a super cute, tiny gecko in the bathroom that I only saw once, LOL. He didn't bother me, I didn't bother him. In any event, my second room was fine. The location was pretty far from the downtown and Casco Antiguo, but Uber rides are so cheap it didn't really matter (between $4 and $6 one way). One advantage is that the hotel is connected to the Albrook Mall, which is HUGE and has everything you could ever need. I'm serious, there is no way you couldn't find whatever you were looking for from food to clothes to drugstores to banking...etc. Food at the hotel breakfast was only okay in my experience, but again, the people working there made up for it in spades. Good choice for a traveler who wants to know what to expect in terms of their accommodations. Would stay there again just because of the phenomenal service I received from staff. Can't say enough about how great they were.
I stayed at Marriott Albrook during a business trip for the Latin Tyre Expo. The location is excellent — just 15 minutes from the convention center, 20 minutes from the city center, 40 minutes from the international airport, and only 7 minutes from the local airport for small plane and helicopter tours over Panama. The direct access to Albrook Mall is a huge plus — everything you might need is right there. The hotel also has a small gym that’s open 24/7 — basic but enough for a decent workout. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, and service is top-notch. The only thing that could be improved is the food variety. I ordered room service twice — once after arrival and once on the first day of the expo. The meals were okay, but the menu could be a bit more diverse. Overall, a great hotel — I’d definitely recommend it for business trips or travel.
This place used to be awesome. We just spent a week at this hotel. Found a cockroach in our room. Got switched rooms with smaller beds and a free “lunch” (only had 2 proteins available, chicken and fish). Also had a blanket with black stains on it, very weird. The rooms just don’t seem to be checked for quality. For $200 a night I expect better. We decided to cancel our reservation and take our business somewhere else that reflects the level of care and cleanliness we expect from a big name hotel. It’s too bad because this used to be our go to place. It is what it is. Come with low expectations and you’ll do just fine.
