Marriott Plaza San Antonio

Stayed for three nights, and while the hotel is an older one, the room, gym, pool/hot tub, and grounds in general are great. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We had a slight leak in the ceiling from plumbing, but it was quickly taken care of, and while the staff and general manage offered to move us to another room immediately, we decided to stay put since we really enjoyed the room's balcony view overlooking San Antonio. One slight caveat about the hotel is that parking is an extra $28/night, and although there is a cheap lot a block away, the GM, Joe, was kind enough to comp us the hotel's lot for our stay due to the leak, as well as give us a generous late check out. Joe's the man!

Excellent amenities, and great staff. This hotel is walking distance to the river-walk but is just far enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise from revving cars and drunk folks. This hotel easily represents the best value in a hotel in downtown San Antonio. The pool and courtyard are incredible features that are not matched by anything in the area.

Really nice place to stay for a weekend. This was our second time here and we love it. Lobby is gorgeous, the pool is awesome and very clean. The garden is very well maintained. Service is impeccable since the minute you step in the hotel. My only complaint would be that this time our room was facing the street so I heard the train all night long... next time I know better to ask for a room facing the gardens. Room service was also very kind, especially Ericka, she even left a nice note in the room for my kids. Very sweet!!!!
