Marriott Residences Salgados Resort Algarve

Our stay at Marriott Residences Salgados Resort was amazing! The apartments are spacious and modern, the pools are beautiful and well maintained, and the beach is just a short walk away. The food was delicious and varied, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Perfect for a family holiday – we’ll definitely be back!

The hotel facilities were decent, with several pools to choose from and a few restaurant options available across the sister properties. The highlight of our stay was the room — impeccable, spacious, fully equipped, and very comfortable. However, the service was underwhelming, with limited staff presence and support. Breakfast was average, not what one would expect from a resort of this category. Another downside was the pricing: the nightly room rate was higher than what we paid at a true 5-star hotel we stayed in afterwards, which made the value questionable. In addition, many services came with extra charges, such as the kids’ club and parking. The location is fine but nothing exceptional. Overall, while the rooms are excellent, the lack of service, average food, and pricing structure prevent the property from delivering a genuine luxury experience.

We are due to stay here in a few days time. We have emailed the hotel 3 times without a single response, simply asking about the availability of a couple of items we need for our baby. It really doesn't bode well that the staff can't even be bothered to respond to an email from upcoming guests, and seems to reflect the other reviews that suggest the staff here simply don't make the effort. Let's hope the actually stay is better than we are anticipating.
