Marriott s Mai Khao Resort Phuket

We stayed here for 3 nights with family of 5 in the vacation club. The suite had 2 bedrooms and all the amenities of a house. Felt comfortable just relaxing in the dining area or the big balcony overlooking the pool. The shuttle service makes the commute easy to and from the other mariott properties or to the mall. 711 is a just a stones throw away and the restaurants in turtle mall are also good for a meal or simply getting a drink.

Extraordinarily clean and spacious apartments, exquisitely equipped (including a washer and a dryer!). A bit pricey and located in a touristy bobble. Hotel itself is very small so amenities at the resort itself are very limited for this price range. Staff amazing and the only reason this is a 4 star for what should have been a 3 star review when considering value for money. Dont go to turtle village unless you want to pay Western prices for Western goods.

Pros: - It has a very big family room villa that the kids enjoyed. - They are very thoughtful to provide detergent for laundry, cooking utensils, and even sponge for dishwashing. Cons: - the facility is outdated. The room has musty wood smell. - the sales pitch. We had 1 hour compulsory sales pitch to attend. It was very persuasive, so need to decide wisely whether you really need it. - the location is very far from everywhere. It took us 1h to reach the weekend market.
