Quick recommendation to the Syracuse community, along with all Bonvoy members. If you're in this area, we strongly recommend you stay at the Marriott Downtown Syracuse. It's a great property, with lots of character. More importantly, the service has been tremendous. Specifically, I would like to thank T for a job well done! He was polite, professional and knowledgeable, Overall, a terrific property. One of my favorite in the country. Signed fat & bald
Came here for a wedding reception. This historic hotel used to be the Syracuse hotel, which ended up being trashy back in the day. However, the hotel has been refurbished from what I understand with some better looking amenities. The event space that we were in was absolutely beautiful. Huge tall high ceilings great open space. Very conducive for wedding reception. The elevators were very very small and some of the decor looked outdated. The staff that served us and that we ran into were absolutely amazing. Very patient with the guests at this wedding reception. The immediate area around the hotel really has nothing as a draw. It's kind of like in the city with some construction nearby. I guess once the construction gets done and maybe business start coming back into the city it might be better? Cannot attest to any of the rooms.
Do not stay here! Less than 1 star. I’m so disgusted with this particular Marriott. I always stay in a Marriott property but never again at this one. From the time you enter in the doors, the carpet is soiled and completely warn down. The entrance of the building hasn’t been cleaned in forever by the looks of things. That was my first impression of this hotel. The smell is nice but only in the lobby. There was literally a problem with almost everything. I’ve never encountered a situation like this with Marriott. From having my room re-cleaned, no fresh towels, soiled carpet, needed body wash, bathroom tissue, old broken furniture, and valet wasn’t on top of their game. Was given a ticket to call when you wanted your car to be brought around, for what? you still had to give valet your ticket number and wait another 10-15 minutes for your car. I have always enjoyed Marriott properties for their customer service, cleanliness, value for your buck, and mostly, the overall experience. This particular property needs to close down until they’ve completely renovated the entire property.
