Marriott's Ocean Pointe

This place could turn me into a full-time mermaid! It is a great resort for families to swim, play, and relax. The ocean water is gorgeous, and the beach was clean. I didn't take enough pictures of the resort's lush and tropical landscaping, but it is impressive. There are multiple pools, a grilling area with an herb garden, a tiki bar with entertainment/music, a basic weight room with good cardio machines, and sand volleyball. There is also a cool place to snorkel near the jetty and sand pumps that are a short walk from the beach entrance. We saw amazing tropical fish right there near the resort! (You MUST visit Peanut Island nearby and snorkle!)

Third time visiting this property, we love the location and the villas are well appointed. They provide you a number to text for any additional supplies you might need for your stay and they do so very fast. The first evening we had an issue with the garbage disposal and they came to fix it right away even though it was close to midnight! We traveled with small children and a teenager, plenty of activities for everyone, felt very safe and had a wonderful time. I would recommend to bring your own beach chairs/ umbrella if planning to spend time at the beach, also bring your own drinks because the prices at the bar are outrageous (almost $20 for a watered down daiquiri) We were able to drive to Juno Beach and Jupiter to some attractions, some nice restaurants around as well. We would definitely come back for the convenience of traveling by car and the beautiful beach.

I’m sad to leave a 1 star review because this hotel truly has a lot of potential but this is all ruined by the service/staff. First fail: At check-in we were told our room was not ready and we had to wait until 6pm to get it (check -in is at 4pm). We traveled to get here. Kids were anxious to get into the room and explore the pool. No compensation was given. They are unable to budge on their 10am check out either 🤔. Second fail: We get to the room and there is pubic hair in the sink, and some around the sink. When you use the sink you have to run the water quickly because the sink doesn’t drain well so the whole bowl fills up. AND the water is brown 🤢. The staff says this is normal south Florida water. We have been staying in multiple south Florida hotels and have not experienced this anywhere else. I did alert staff via their text message service and without response. Third fail: this hotel provides one set of towels and no cleaning service. Therefore if you go to the pool/beach be prepared to bring your own towels and use them. Towels were sopping wet. Kids were cold, and wanted fresh ones. We went into the hotel to ask for more and told they could only be replaced in your room. So we leave the wet towels in the room and wait for new ones. They come and take the wet towels and don’t bring fresh ones. 1.5 hours and several phone calls/text later after becoming upset they bring four more towels. At that point the need was over. This hotel does not meet the Marriott standard we have been accustomed to. Marriott please do some staff training at this location….customer service is greatly lacking!
