We just came back from our second trip to this resort and can’t wait to go back next year. It’s a lovely updated resort with multiple pools, bars and food options. It’s great for kids but also adults, specifically at the serenity pool. Rooms are always clean and very spacious. We don’t own here but are lucky enough to go with people who do and can’t wait to go back.
The staff was incredibly helpful and made sure we got the exact room we wanted. Everything went smoothly and turned out great. Really appreciated how accommodating and professional they were. It also happened during our 2 week stay, I and my daughter celebrated our birthdays, and the staff surprised us with a thoughtful little gift package. It was a really kind gesture that made the stay even more special. I wish I had gotten everyone's name so I could tell Marriott how great each individual staff member was.
We have been coming to Marriott OceanWatch villas in Myrtle Beach for over 10 years. We have always loved the location, and the amenities and cleanliness of the facility. However we came this year for the 4th of July week, and were treated terribly. We had requested a room on a high floor with a view on the inside of the resort. When we arrived, we were given a floor on the outside on the ground floor. While that was a disappointment, we understand requests are not always accommodated. However, upon arriving to our room, we found the door propped wide open with the sliding glass door to the patio also unlocked. After expressing this concern to the front desk and requesting a different room, we were told there is nothing they could do, but they would send security over. We waited for over an hour, and security never showed. On entering the room, we discovered it was filthy, with hair hanging from the walls in the showers, bathtub, and floors. After bringing this issue up with the front desk, we were again told there was nothing they could do, and they would have management contact us first thing in the morning. After waiting until after 12pm with no contact from anyone, I returned to the front desk, again to be told there was nothing they could do. This was an extremely disappointing experience from a place our family had loved for over a decade. In addition to our loyalty to this facility, we have “Titanium Elite” status with Marriott Bonvoy. If this is how they treat guests with their highest loyalty level, I’d hate to see how they treat guests with lesser brand loyalty. Sadly, we will not be coming back……
