Hotel tries to cut corners to save money and it shows. I was told if we needed more shower towels before Day 3 when our housekeeping was scheduled, it would be a $15 fee!!! Also we were given 2 pool towels (there were 3 of us staying) and was told we could exchange at the front desk if needed. One day we went swimming in the morning and wanted to go again in the afternoon but our towels were wet. There are NO TOWELS AT THE POOL. If you want replacements you have to physically make the trek to the front desk or wait over an hour for housekeeping to bring them to you... that is ridiculous!! My kids were complaining because they wanted to swim but we had to wait in our room instead. I understand it's costly to wash all those towels but gross! Also there are a lot of families with little kiddos at the main pool, but no lifeguards. Heaven forbid something happens....
Worst experience ever. We were there for only 3 nights and we got 3 rooms. First room wasn’t cleaned, had blood splatter all over the walls and bugs everywhere. Second room had a long time water leak which resulted in black mold and mushrooms coming out of the carpet. Photos will be added. Marriott and Bonvoy couldn’t care less. The pools weren’t even that nice. Trying the competitors next time for sure. This place didn’t even give us a genuine “sorry” for causing a serious health risk to our family. We had a lot more people in our party. They will be leaving their reviews as well.
The Marriott Shadow Ridge-The Village I has definitely gone down hill and can care less about taking care of their rooms. Our first room had poop on the toilet seat, a brown substance on the freshly made bed, red splatter (looks like blood) on the walls and curtains and dozens of insects. We asked for a room change as our room was filthy. Our second room had a long time water leak from the dishwasher. It was obvious when we walked into the room as the dishwasher was out about 2 inches and at a weird angle. A large portion of the carpet was wet. Maintenance came at 10:00 PM to fix the leak. He said they would dry out the room the next day and have a manager contact us. That never happened. What did happen was black mold and mushrooms started to grow on the carpet. This leak was obviously longer than 24 hours. Nobody at the Marriott/Bonvoy could care less Since nobody came to dry out the room or even call us about the situation, we went to the front desk. The manager Tim, who was the manager that was supposed to call us acted surprised about the situation. We told him we weren’t paying for any of the rooms and contacting the Health Department. We let him know we weren’t paying for any of the rooms and that they were to move us immediately to a third room in 3 days. He comped the rooms but it seemed as if he or anyone from the Marriott Bonvoy even cared. No apology from anyone for putting our family in filthy rooms with black mold.
