I am delighted to share my experience at this peaceful destination. There were an abundance of great activities and entertainment for all ages to enjoy. The karaoke was a particular highlight, creating memorable evenings for guests. Moreover, the waterpark provided endless fun and excitement. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable stay.
Pretty nice, overall.... this was a last minute choice and we do not regret it, the scenery is beautiful. The water park is cool, rec center is nice, tried salt therapy which was interesting (take napkins if you're trying it-releases mucus). *Note- Room 487 (side E). I do NOT recommend, at night I could barely sleep due to the mechanical sprinkler room making noise and vibrating all night.
My Frustrating Experience with Great Eastern Resorts of Massanutten, Virginia I’ve been a timeshare owner with Great Eastern Resorts for over 20 years, but after a significant life change in 2019, I no longer travel and the timeshare has become a financial and personal burden. My attempts to resolve this situation and end my ownership have been frustrating, unproductive, and eye-opening to the illusion that there is any value in a timeshare. When I reached out to Great Eastern Resorts and the owners’ association, my concerns were initially ignored for a long time. When I finally received a response, they offered what I imagine is a form letter response suggesting I try to sell the timeshare on my own while also warning me about scams. After that, communication simply stopped. Despite repeated follow-ups and reaching out to several government authorities, they have provided no additional guidance or options, leaving me feeling completely stuck. I’ve invested thousands of dollars into this timeshare over the years, and it’s disheartening that a loyal customer can be met with silence instead of support. I’ve asked for a clear, safe way to cancel my ownership, in return they provided a list of online selling sites and a warning not to pay those same listing services to avoid being scammed. Selling it on my own seems like a waste of time and energy when eBay lists hundreds of timeshares for $1. I’ve tried to explain this, but they won’t even allow me to give it back to them for free. They also won’t commit to taking it back if I follow their advice and list the timeshare and it doesn’t sell. That’s how bad a deal they see their own timeshare as. This process has left me feeling worn down and without options.
