We had a fantastic stay at Masseria Marzalossa. After discovering mold in our Airbnb, we had to find new accommodation at the last minute, and a friend from Puglia recommended this hotel. The rooms were spacious, and we even had our own little backyard. I especially loved that we could cover the doors and windows to keep out the sunlight and sleep in. The grounds were absolutely stunning. I’m grateful the Airbnb didn’t work out because I can’t imagine having a better stay anywhere else.

The grounds of this place are stunningly beautiful and very well kept. The pool is absolutely fantastic and very clean. The staff when available were incredibly helpful. Unfortunately aside from this Masseria Marzalossa lets itself down. For the price I would not; expect to pay 4euros for every bottle of water. With none available in the room either. Have 2 very basic creaky single beds shoved together - labelled as a ‘double suite’ Not be informed that all pool side drinks are charged without any warning/receipt (aperol 6euro served in a paper coffee cup!) Dinner served at a high price for what it was-on very chipped crockery. On our last day we saw others being given eggs for breakfast. We had never been offered this... Overall we had a great honeymoon, but the customer experience here was sadly lacking. A few crucial and not even very expensive changes could make this place amazing, however as it is I wouldn’t recommend it.

My father was due to stay at this hotel in June, but tragically he passed away suddenly. When we informed the hotel and requested a refund for the part of the stay he had already paid for, we were met with nothing but a cold response and a copy of their terms and conditions. No sympathy, no compassion, no attempt at goodwill. With the terms we were days past the full refund allowance. We asked them to reconsider—this wasn’t a change of mind or cancellation for convenience, this was a bereavement. Still, they refused. Their message was clear: they care more about keeping money than about treating people with humanity. In contrast, another hotel he had booked during the same trip responded immediately with condolences and processed a full refund—no questions asked. That’s what decent businesses do in times like these. Ask yourself: if this is how they treat a grieving family, what does it say about the kind of place this is? I urge anyone considering staying here to think twice and book elsewhere. Choose somewhere that values people, not just policies.
