Masseria Santa Teresa is a genuine traditional fortified farmhouse, typical of the Puglia region in Italy. If you're seeking a Ritz-style resort with a less authentic Italian ambiance, this place might not be for you. However, for those wanting to immerse themselves in the true Puglian experience, it’s an excellent choice. The location is conveniently just a 10-15 minute drive from Monopoli, making it easy to explore nearby popular towns such as Polignano a Mare, Bari, and Alberobello—a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its trulli, the iconic dry-stone houses with conical roofs. You can also visit Ostuni, the “White City,” famous for its whitewashed buildings, and other lovely cities like Lecce, Taranto, and Matera—all within a drivable distance. We managed to see all of this in just one week! Masseria Santa Teresa exudes an authentic charm, providing a perfect haven for relaxation after a day of exploration. It’s a wonderfully tranquil place. The receptionist, Simona, was incredibly welcoming, and I looked forward to her friendly presence each day. She provided great recommendations for places to visit and assisted us with dinner reservations, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We also enjoyed the breakfast, with our waiter Biagio taking exceptional care of us. Within days, he became attuned to our preferences and made an effort to make us feel like family. Despite a language barrier, he communicated with warmth and enthusiasm, which made our mornings special—my daughters were always excited to greet him, and their laughter is a memory I will treasure forever. His dedication to service truly stood out. The Masseria was impeccably clean. I noticed they are currently renovating some of the hotel rooms and the garden area, and I'm looking forward to returning to see the updates. We stayed in the main section of the Masseria, where our room was spacious and airy, with a modern yet authentic bathroom. My mother-in-law occupied a newer part of the building and her room felt just as modern and clean. We visited just before the busy season began (early April, when it was still a bit chilly for sunbathing and swimming), so the pool wasn't quite warm enough for a dip, but that didn't stop the girls from taking a swim. The views from the pool area were breathtaking! Waking up to stunning scenery, surrounded by lush olive trees and the scent of citrus trees, was absolute bliss. The grounds were rustic and peaceful, giving off a holistic retreat vibe. This Masseria, with its friendly staff, made us feel like part of a Puglian family. I’m sure we will return in the future.
