Staying at Masseria Torre Spagnola, situated just a short drive from Matera, felt like stepping into a peaceful fairytale. The historic masseria has been lovingly restored into a serene countryside retreat. The heart of the experience is the warm, family-run hospitality, led by Beatrice who welcomed us with open arms. She took the time to share the rich history of the property and guide us through must-see sites in Matera.. always happy to answer every question and offer suggestions that deepened our appreciation for the region. Each morning, the breakfast was magnificent, with generous spread of homemade jams and cakes, local breads, fresh juices, pastries, cheeses, eggs made to order, and cappuccinos with fresh milk from their own farm. We have just left the farmhouse, we were a group of eight, the facilities, rooms, service and warmth of the family that runs the establishment were second to none, we have stayed at both B/b and hotels, we can assure you none have come close, our breakfast this morning was deliciously laid out on our table with plenty to choose from and nearly all home made, extremely happy to recommend
