We come to Río for the carnival for 15 nights. Hotel is very friendly and very beautiful. Everything was very clean. Housekeeping excelente room was clean every single night. Everything worked in our room no complaints. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast very good. My respects for Julio, Cintia and Danielle from the restaurant they made our stay the best. They did everything possible to make us feel like at home. Victor and Eric from the front desk very friendly and they help us in everything. Thank you very much everyone was a great stay at the hotel. We liked everything and everyone. Rui and Lilia Cardoso

Excellent hotel, beautiful and modern design, the rooms are well-kept, but a tad small. The air conditioning works fantastic. Views of other buildings and the street. The service is excellent. The breakfast is good with extended hours. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a terrace, or a pool.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Matiz Niterói Design Hotel in Niterói, Brazil, and I strongly advise others to avoid it. To start, the location is a nightmare. While the hotel claims it’s just 35-40 minutes from Rio de Janeiro, the reality is far worse. Due to relentless traffic, expect to spend at least an hour—sometimes even an hour and a half—just getting to and from the city. This means wasting both time and money on transportation daily, as there’s little to do near the hotel itself. If you’re looking for decent restaurants, bars, shopping, or activities, prepare for a long commute. Unfortunately, the issues don’t end there. The hotel’s plumbing is an absolute disaster—expect toilets that only flush properly once every 10 minutes. The showers are in a deplorable state, with grime buildup and leaks that leave the entire bathroom floor soaked. You’ll likely have to use your towels to mop up the mess, which is completely unacceptable.
