We only stayed here one night at the tail end of our trip. Prior to flying home. The hotel was quiet, yet a close walk to all the action. The room was clean, well appointed and adorable. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and loved the full blackout shades. My only note is the bathroom needs more light. Just an LED around the mirror, might as well have been candlelight but since we were there less than 24h, it wasn’t a big deal! And the cappuccino we had from the bar in the lobby was buonissimo! We had a short but wonderful stay!
I have stayed at the Sir hotels in the past and have always been pleased. I cannot say I was as pleased with the Max Brown group. Whilst the lobby area is cute there are not many amenities such as a restaurant or fitness center. The bathroom in my Cosy room was SO dark I could barely see to take a shower never-mind apply my makeup. There was only one dim vanity light and NO light near the shower. Felt a bit unsafe. The air conditioning also did not work well. It was simply blowing warm air. I feel like there was more time spent decorating and less on the actual facilities.
From the photos, the hotel looks beautiful and seems to have been recently renovated — and in some areas, that holds true. The bar and common spaces are nicely done, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast offered limited options, but the food quality was decent. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The room we stayed in felt dark and outdated, with old furniture and a bathroom that left a lot to be desired. The shower was made of plastic, had no hot water, and didn’t drain properly. Towels had an odd smell, and the toilet looked like something left over from the 1960s. The elevator was another issue — extremely slow. Be prepared to wait, and bring a book. At over €200 per night, this hotel is a clear case of style over substance. Disappointing overall.
