Lovely green oasis . Beautiful restful gardens, close to the beach. Ample sunbeds, delightful staff, especially Antonia and Andy in the pool bar and delicious fresh food. We will be back !!
Loved this place! Food was so fresh, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and it was a quick walk to the beach and there is a beach club next door which we loved and free parking nearby.
The family owned gem the good but could be GREAT. We had a truly wonderful stay at the May Beach Hotel, a warm and welcoming family-friendly resort boasting exceptionally clean and fresh facilities. The rooms are spacious and perfect for our family, and the beds stood out as among the top 3 we've ever slept in—truly outstanding! The food was generally of high quality with a nice variety and most dishes were delicious. That said, we did miss a stronger selection geared toward children on the all-inclusive menu—a thoughtful addition that could make a big difference for young families. Noise levels in our room proved to be a downside: the doors were not soundproofed and let in a surprising amount of external noise, and the windows in rooms facing the road were also very poorly insulated. As a result, traffic noise sometimes felt like it was streaming straight through the room, which unfortunately affected our sleep. Another downside was that not all drinks (or food) are included in the all‑inclusive package—premium branded beverages incur an additional charge in both the bar and restaurant and certain dishes. While understandable, this detail would be appreciated if clarified more clearly at booking. Suggestions to elevate this very good hotel to truly great one would be: * Offer a larger and more varied selection of child‑friendly dishes in the buffet to improve mealtime appeal for younger guests. * Improve sound insulation in both doors and road‑facing windows to ensure a quieter, more restful stay. * Clarify at booking (travel agencies) what the all‑inclusive package actually covers—or better yet, expand it so that more drinks and options are genuinely included, enhancing value and convenience. Overall: May Beach Hotel is an excellent choice for families seeking a relaxing and enjoyable Cretan getaway. With a few thoughtful enhancements, it could easily become one of the island’s top family hotels!
