Mayaland Hotel & Bungalows Chichén Itzá

A rare gem! This place was amazing. Warm welcoming staff, clean big rooms and the beautiful grounds around the entire property. We will certainly be coming back next year. Check it out!

American perspective: Super unique experience. Convenient to get to Chichen Itza. Bungalows are different from any other hotel. They’re not super up to date but clearly very clean. There is one large AC unit in the house but you don’t really need it since you can just open a window a crack for some fresh air. It will be COLD at night. Buffet will disappoint Americans (very little selection but some of it is authentic food at least). Food at the snack bar was better. The cenote is amazing and worth the cheap hotel stay since you have bonus hours access when tourists aren’t around. The staff are extremely courteous and friendly, but not many can speak English fluently. We would stay again given the price, but don’t expect a Hyatt experience :)

We took the King bungalow for one night, was lovely, very big and a huge bed ( can get cold at night, but they provide also a blanket in the room). Free access to the Cenotes from 8 am and 6 pm ( is amazing when you have the cenotes all for yourself, and to see in day light and at night). Breakfast was good, pretty standard for Mexico- continental and a free choice of scrambled eggs with a coffee or a drink included, if you want both you have to pay for the extra drink).is safe, the whole territory is guarded 24/7. Is very close to Chichen Itza which is basically the main tourist attraction in the Area ( we visited after our check-out).
