Mayura Ubud Retreat

We had a wonderful stay at Mayura and cannot praise the hotel enough. What makes it so special, in fact, is the lovely and welcoming staff. From the moment we walked into the hotel we felt like family. Thanks to Gede and team. Of course, the "retreat" location and tranquility makes this a little oasis, and far away from the hustle and bustle of life. So much so, that we did not venture out very much, but enjoyed the quiet and wildlife instead. We have been to Ubud before so did not go on tours. We did, however, have a great massage and highly recommended. The food was great too. On paper it looks mediocre, but in reality it is fabulous. The breakfast choices are healthy and numerous plus the presentation is superb. We had a cooking class with Ansara (the chef), which included a visit to the local market. Not to be missed. But the dining experience would not be complete without the serving team who were courteous, professional and friendly. Yes, the pool is small but long enough for my morning fitness swim. We found the bed comfortable. Would definitely return.

First time in Bali so also first hotel we went to. We had an incredibly good experience 😊 All of the staff is just very very gentle, ready to help and it was a real pleasure spending time there. Also the food was impeccable, super good breakfast, might also add that the kitchen was open the whole day, so after a long day exploring the island, it's just good when you can sit down in the hotel and have a nice evening meal. 5⭐️ for a truly nice experience, and we will for sure come back to that place! ♥️

Beautiful hotel set in the countryside. The exterior is very flowery and well-maintained, and smells of frangipani everywhere, making for a very exotic setting. Hotel assets: - Neat rooms (prefer those on the upper floors to avoid being nearby the pool or the restaurant where it's noisier). - The staff are extremely attentive and considerate. - The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the center of Ubud (1 hour walking distance) with 2 departures per day, which must be booked the day before, so you need to think ahead. And pay a fine if no-show. - Happy hours at the pool bar with tasty cocktails and mocktails. And you can eat all day long. - Free loan of bicycles for 1 hour (to visit the surrounding rice fields). Some drawbacks: 1. The spa is rather expensive compared with what you can find elsewhere, and the smell of humidity is not pleasant. 2. The cleaning service is fast, but clothes came back shrunken... Despite all this, it's still very good value for money and a very pleasant experience, especially thanks to the staff.
