We spent 5 days here as a family and we had a very good time. The staff was very pleasant, kind and helpful. The breakfast was tasty. The area was great too. A lot of great restaurants around with very good food. Also a market near to buy water or whatever. We recommend it for sure !

3 July Good location, decent breakfast, while the AC is out order in sweltering summer days. 30 July , 2nd review 1) enjoyed crispy fried eggs. 2) A helpful staff offered us a cup of tea after check-out. Appreciate the hospitality in my last stop in Istanbul. Will revisit here again.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. I booked a 9-night stay at Maywood Hotel for €900 but had to leave after just 2 nights due to multiple serious issues — and the hotel refused to refund the remaining €700, claiming it’s “their policy.” The hotel is old and poorly maintained. My room was dirty, and electricity kept cutting off daily, making it impossible to relax or sleep comfortably. The staff were largely unhelpful — in particular, one male receptionist was rude and dismissive when I politely requested a proper blanket. He told me: “We don’t offer thick blankets in summer.” Ironically, when I asked the housekeeping lady, she provided the correct blanket immediately — clearly showing the issue was just lack of service, not availability. This kind of behavior, combined with the fact that the hotel prints its no-refund policy and sticks it on the wall, makes it obvious that many guests try to leave early once they see the true condition of the hotel. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told “no manager is available” — for two days in a row. I will be escalating this matter to Turkish Tourism Authorities and Tourist Police, as this is unacceptable behavior for a hotel in such a major tourist area. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. There are many much better options in Istanbul for the same or even lower price.
