MCG Cakmak Marble Hotel

The location of the hotel is excellent, with easy access to most of the city’s main attractions and tourist spots. It was very convenient to explore the city from here. The hotel itself was clean and bright, and our room was spacious and clean too. However, there were two issues worth mentioning about the room. First, the toilet bowl didn't look very appealing — it gave the impression of being stained, even though it was presumably clean. Second, it took quite a long time for the water to turn warm in the shower, which could be inconvenient, especially when you're in a hurry. The main issue we experienced was with the air conditioning and ventilation system. The built-in AC unit was extremely noisy, making it difficult to sleep peacefully. There was also a portable evaporative cooler (swamp cooler) in the room, but it wasn't a perfect solution either. The water in it ran out quickly, so we had to get up during the night to refill it. Additionally, it made the room quite humid and uncomfortable. In our opinion, if the main AC system were properly fixed, there would be no need for the evaporative cooler at all. Aside from these points, everything else was satisfactory. The staff were polite and respectful, and the breakfast service was good. The variety and quality of the food were quite acceptable. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with a few areas for improvement.

The hotel is pretty centered and close to a lot of shops. It was always clean and organized, breakfast had many options and the food was good. The furniture is old and it looks like an antique hotel. The only thing to improve is the service by people, firstly they don’t speak English, so communication was really hard and second they weren’t willing to help.

Location is superb, but the hotel is neglected by the owners. It could be a superb hotel, in case it was overhauled, such a pity.
