Many lights in our room did not work. At dinner service they were overwhelmed. We sat for 10 minutes before we got a menu, and then waited for 20 min and still didn’t even have water. Waitresses kept walking by but did not acknowledge us - same for a couple of other tables near us. Food, however, is excellent. The front reception service is very good and staff are nice. We have been traveling in Türkiye for two weeks so we needed some laundry done. We gave it to the front desk around 3 and it was back by 6! Beautiful new pool built a year ago. The hotel location is great - we were able to walk to town in about 15 min. Ürgüp is a small but lovely town with cute shops and friendly people. We took a hot air balloon ride and had a private tour for two days around the area. There’s a lot of unique history and geographical formations here. Although there’s WiFi, my husband had difficulty accessing his work emails and mainframe because of issues with the hotel router strength.

I was highly surprised to see how high this hotel was rated. We experienced two power outages in our room in the middle of the night (my wife uses a CPAP so we had a poor night’s rest). The front desk said they would “look into it,” but they never did. Fortunately, we were able to switch rooms. The jacuzzi was not working. The TV in our second room was not working. Perhaps they are shifting focus to catering to large tour groups, as there was a battalion of aggressive tourists (three bus loads full) causing a huge line at the breakfast buffet. I am not embellishing when I say aggressive: one tried to take my wife’s omelet at the omelet bar and one intentionally slammed into my shoulder coming out of the breakfast room. The pool is beautiful, which is why I’m giving it two rather than one star. I recommend looking elsewhere if you are a solo traveler or single family.
