Absolutely loved this hotel. Funky, relaxed, great staff. Good location close to the station and handy for seeing the best parts of town. Thoroughly recommend.
Overall, excellent design, location, and service. The breakfast is excellent (although it would be nice if the options changed more day to day). The fitness center and sauna are appreciated. Tip: the lockers are on the 6th floor but the robes, slippers, and the sauna is on the 7th floor, so you need to go up, get your stuff, change, and then go back up. The facilities were clean. One major caveat: this is somewhat common in Europe, but, no matter what you do, the temperature in the room was pretty hot if you are used to AC in the US. They gave me a fan to use and it helped, but I was drenched in sweat and had trouble sleeping every night.
Excellent hotel. The breakfast was amazing. Will definitely come back just for that. Varied and very tasty. All you can wish for. The location of the hotel is right next to an arterial road. Walking from Mainz Old Town requires crossing a busy bridge leading over railways.
