Meditur Hotel Bologna

Lovely hotel close to Bologna but in a quiet location. Good access to motorway. Plenty of restaurants nearby

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It’s surrounded by greenery, like a garden oasis just outside the city center. Not too far, but it feels more spacious and peaceful, almost like a countryside villa. The building itself has a classic Italian charm, and my room, decorated in rich red tones, had a beautiful, consistent style. Reminded me a bit of the Sherlock Holmes era, maybe Victorian? Either way, it was very cozy and elegant. Breakfast was lovely, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They gave me great tips about traveling in Italy. For example, I had an issue with a bus fine (I bought the wrong zone ticket even though I followed advice at the train station), and the hotel staff shared their own experiences and advice, which was really kind and helpful. Overall, I felt very comfortable there. It’s a charming, welcoming place and I would definitely recommend it.

- We needed somewhere for one night before our flight so found this to be a very reasonable option. Whilst the price was OK for what we got (2 rooms approx £100 including breakfast) the hotel is in need of refurbishment in some areas, mostly in the rooms rather than common areas - Whilst the reception staff were friendly and helpful, I did explain that one of our rooms smelled of smoke from the previous customer. They insisted that smoking is prohibited. Some people clearly just don't care - The rooms are very clean but dated. Blinds need changing. The bed was great and plenty of pillows to be comfortable. The shower trickled out but the bathroom was OK overall and comes with shower gel, shampoo and bath salts if you need them - The building is kept very warm so needed to keep the window open overnight. Not the best air conditioning system - Breakfast was probably the best part of the stay. Plenty of choice however, the coffee was not good - I would probably come back here if unable to find somewhere better next time. I'm surprised by the 4+ rating of this hotel but maybe my review is a little critical. I like to give honest advice
